We are very pleased to present some of the first audio recordings from our new account on Soundcloud.
To start off the collection, we present some archive material of a performance by an Outreach member, Labrini Gioti.
Labrini graduated from the University of Limerick, Ireland with an MA in ethnomusicology, and has contributed some interesting articles to the outreach website over the years. Some of her articles at UL explored the Rembetika music of her home country, Greece, and they may be accessed through the fieldwork section of this website.
These days, she performs Rembetika music regularly, from Athens to Aberdeen and beyond. Here are a number of songs from a concert at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 2013.
