Tomorrow i will present a paper at  the Ireland -London: Writing in the Arts conference.

Venue: Hammersmith Irish Cultural Centre

Saturday 23rd February 2013

The title of my paper is: "Irish Traditional Music In London - Space, Timing and the Gig".

Here is my abstract:

This paper will explore Irish traditional music making in London. By looking at common aspects of performance within differing contexts, it will ask questions as to how we perceive ourselves as performers and how the listener becomes involved with the culture presented. What does it mean to be a musician on the Irish music circuit in London? How do prepared arrangements create perceptions and influence performances of traditional music?
