I am an orchestra teacher in Ithaca, NY and a professional violinist. I have a particular interest in Icelandic music and culture. I am working on a trip there in late March to study Icelandic music. Does anyone have an idea of how to narrow my research? I though about looking at gender equity in the Icelandic music scene.

    Hi Aaron,

We have had some success! A reply from one Thomas Hilder notes as follows: "I would recommend consulting literature by Nicola Dibben, Tony Mitchell, and Kimberly Cannady."

I would be interested to find out how it goes for you :)

    All the best,
    Patrick

Also, from the same post on Facebook:

Faulkner, R. 2013, Icelandic Men and Me: Sagas of Singing, Self and Everyday Life, Ashgate
(apparently that last item is particularly interesting)..
